Sorry I couldn't meet up this last week Russel. I just got your pm last night when I got home. I had no service down there for 3.5 days, something was wrong with my phone. It wouldn't have mattered anyways. My truck and our 2 trailers were way too packed to even fit my bike in. So next time were both down for sure. Thanks for the invite though.

I am going to be in St George for pretty much the month of June. If you get a chance to come down, bring the bike. By then, I will have gotten the whole area figured out.

I know I'll be down there 2 weekends from now. And then a week after that. Were going to Cali and we'll make a few day pit stops at our place. We can ride then.

for those who love to see other riders struggle:

Other than this hill, I didn't have any major trouble all day.

I think a good rider could have made it. There were a few factors at play with my struggles there.

1) my tire was aired up to about 30 (stupid me for not checking in the parking lot) I later aired down and it made a HUGE difference as can be expected.
2) my tires are small. 16" rear tires don't roll over things well, they slam into them, which kills the momentum
3) I suck at riding
4) I didn't keep my momentum going
5) I was still at stock MX race gearing. If I dropped a tooth or two in the front I would have had zero issues.

I took that video for those who were wondering if a kx100 is a good woods/trail bike. I still think it's a great option, but it needs some tweaks for me to keep riding that kind of stuff. Bring on the modifications!

and if you think that was clutch abuse, you should have seen me up AF Canyon later that day, riding Mineral Basin with 2" of water flowing over all the rocks. I can't believe my clutch still works after that. The best part about riding a kx100 is that a new clutch only costs $35!

I've got some evil plans for that little kx100...

It's only about a 1/2 mile stretch like that at the most. I am so glad that I had my rem use clutch that day. Grant and I made it up pretty quick, and I attribute it to the clutch, not the rider. :(

When we rode this trail the week after those videos, it had been raining during the week, so when we got to these sections, lets just say it made it a bit more interesting :D By the time we came down them a few hours later though, the trail had totally dried out. The rekluse makes riding these kinds of section pretty easy. You still need to keep your momentum but if you need to top, it's no big deal to get going again.

Bummer I sold my trials bike earlier this week. I actually woulda been up for this one. Wasn't the time for 2 bikes. I'm trying to save for a crawler or rig again.

A guy in PG that is a motorcycle mechanic. I can't remember his name. A few days after I sold it I was doing a wood floor on a job and he showed up and was doing the tile on the job.

haha, that's funny. Too bad you never got to take it out on the rocks and see just how much fun they are. I love trail riding, but trials has been more fun for me lately. IT's crazy how fast my trials skills are growing. I still suck, but I suck a lot less than when I started.
