I see guys who have been here for a year or more, and made hundreds of posts.... So, you obviously like whats here.

So, where's your gear???

No, I'm not a mod (still have my hair), and in no way affiliated with RME, but what gives? Times just tough?? I can name names, if you'd like..... :D

Ok...I have a real problem with this...Why should I? Its an open internet forum. If you want to charge....make it totaly private. I won't care...I will just visit other forums. I pay for one internet forum but its also the club I belong to.
Is RME an off road club? Do you have monthly meetings and trail rides?

Its funny how everybody wants your money these days.

All I can say is if you think all the users should pay up...Go private or quit Bit*hing.)

i only have a few posts, (one more now) but for a few bucks a year its well worth it. and yea times are hard, but the resourses available here pay out waaaaayyyy more than a few bucks a year :) :) :)

Oh, and here's my challenge to you, and if I lose I'll fork over the $20 in your name.

Where else can you get this type of local technical info, parts, rigs, trail invites, and condition reports??

I have the same kind of sentiments regarding this lovely forum... but for me it's more like 4-wheel and jeep 101... where else could you get this kind of education for $20?? Not any colleges I can think of! Plus, I now have all the incredibly knowledgable people to ask if I ever have a question, and since they already know I don't know a whole lot, I don't have to even worry about looking or sounding dumb! :p ;)
So, come on people... $20 bucks.... go sell some plasma or something... I'll even come hold your hand if you're afraid of needles... ;)

I wasn't really upset at just you or here....I see this all the time on other boards. For instance...the one board I am a paying member...NAXJA.
Even though I have paid I get so sick of seeing posts like this.

"Well I might help ya if you were a member" WTF is this? There is a reason that the internet is free. Sure it costs money to run a board like this....And like I said I don't have a problem supporting either (although you are right...money is tight)

I just think that if a forum is open to the public then the so called members should not come down so hard on the guys that are just users.

Other forums have gotten the rep of being very Elitist because of things like this...I would hate to see a great site like RME go down the same road.

One thing also I would like to point out....
Asking for support because the owner of the site needs it is very very different then making all the users feel guilty because they haven't paid up.

To be honest I saw a the thread when RME first went to having paid members and if I would have had the money then I would have given it.

But when I put on a guilt trip because I haven't...it makes me want to go the other way..


I know that you did not mean it to come across this way when you started the thread...I just don't ever want to be put in that position....70 posts or 7000.

Oh and yeah you are right...Its hard to get the kind of info you get here...at least on a local level.

I'm sure you know, you'll never hear that kind of crap here. If that's the way it was, most of us wouldn't be here. You know, the Jeep vs Toy, vs Dodge, vs Chevy thing.

Again, this wasn't directed at you at all, but you seem seem to be taking it personally and are insulted by it. I don't understand why?

Again, "I" am NOT associated with RME, just speaking out on what I noticed. If, you feel guilty, that's your fault.
