Other Region Upcoming Trip: Rubicon Trail Lake Tahoe, CA Sept 5-8th 2012

Man, that is too bad westernhunter. My wife an I were really looking forward to having you with us. Maybe we can do it again in 5 years and you can come along. You guys are plenty busy, I can't believe you pulled off Hole in the Rock but you did. Let's plan some trips sometime when you can make it.

Earlier because of living north of Cabelas (Layton) I had proposed meeting at the rest stop about half way to Wendover. It may make more sense to meet up at a gas station in Wendover. There is a Chevron right off the second Wendover exit or a Pilot station a little west of the Chevron. If the Cabelas leaving time is 8:30 that should put the group in Wendover about 10:45. Of the group that is going, who would be meeting at Cabelas and who would like to meet in Wendover and where is everyone preference for gas?

I PM'd Steve a day or two ago about some problems with our furnace. It's apparently toast, so the cost of that has officially forced me to drop out of the Rubicon trip. Looks like I'm on the 5-year plan as well. On the bright side, by then my rig will be better built, and I'll have that much more experience, and I'm sure some of you will want to go back anyway. I'm super bummed about missing out on this (this trip is one reason I bought my GoPro), so you guys enjoy the experience and tell lots of stories when you get back!

Yes, I got the motorsports kit. I can't give up the camera, but I'll happily lend the suction mount as long as it's in good hands

I'll be in Carson City on Tuesday, so on Wednesday myself and Chris will head out to Loon Lake and hopefully find a good campsite big enough for everyone. We will obviously need a fairly large area with a group this big but since a lot of groups stage there for large events I'm guessing there are plenty of good spots.
