I probably will weld it up eventually, not too concerned about it for now.
I got the .243 a few weeks ago. I was really interested in a .233 as you know, but decided to get something a bit larger. I've been wanting a coyote gun and possibly something that could take down a deer. Not sure I'll ever really get into hunting, but if I do, I figured it would be nice to have a rifle that was up to the task. The .243 should be able to take a coyote at 300+ yrds, if I'm capable of putting the bullet out there!
I still need to spend some time sighting in the scope, but so far I'm impressed with it. It's a Stevens 200 and I put the same cheap CenterPoint scope on it that my .22LR has.

dang. I'm going to have to get a 3/8" plate one. Carl, let me know when you get some 3/8" stock.

I'm trying to decide right now if it's worth getting some 3/8" AR500 rather than A36 mild steel. It would certainly be better for targets, but it's over $200 more per sheet than the already-expensive mild steel.

I didn't price 1/2"...but I'll bet it's not too far off from the price of 3/8" AR500.

Got mine, Carl I think you have a winner here. How much will the 9mm kind cost?
Depending on the price I can find on steel, and how efficient I can be at nesting them for cutting--I'm hoping to keep the price down around $20, but it might end up a bit more.

I had the chance to test these out yesterday, and they are a lot of fun. My experimental target that's 1.5x bigger didn't walk with My little .22 handguns (walther p22 and naa black widow). The smaller one walked fine though. Thanks again Carl.
I have the smaller ones ready right now, the others will have to wait until I find a little bit of time.
That's what I was worried about--need more power to turn them, but hte material won't hold up long to larger calibers. We'll see how the 3/8" ones work...I think they'll be great.

Have ya had a chance to test out a 10 gage target with a pellet gun yet? If the pellet gun can walk them, I'd take a pair those.

I cut and tested the 10 gauge version....the pellet rocked it pretty good, but didn't tip it over.
I guess I'll try shortening the legs next, and see how that does. Any ideas what this 10 ga. one is good for now? No automatic nesting, all by hand.
