Had too much fun on Saturday. I spent the morning on my brother's enclosed trailer that disconnected from his truck out in the desert and took a dive. It bent the stub shaft on the axle, bent the rims, bent up the hitch coupler and damaged the front sheet metal and fiberglass. I cut off the old torsion axle and the hitch coupler. The hitch coupler was a royal pain but I eventually got it off. Then I ran up to my friend's ranch to fix his two Ram trucks they use for feeding cows. One had rubbed a hole into the rear brake feed line when the line rubbed against the O2 sensor. The brake line is the longest brake line in these trucks and you have to drop the gas tank to swap them out. There was already a splice in the same area and the line was rusty so I cut out a longer section and spliced in a new metal line. These trucks get used in the mud and cow pies so you get lots of extra stuff dropped on you when you work on them. The next truck has the worthless Dana 60 disconnect axle and it keeps going through the vacuum actuator. I decided to try a redneck fix so I welded the shift fork in the on position. It was working till the rancher's son did a tight turn on pavement in 4x4 and busted the fix. I need to see if I can find a better solution that doesn't cost a bunch.
