YROC ----- your making me jealous with the vice and anvil.
Im starting to build me a metal table to do fab work on. Trying to make it about 2x5 , just enough to get work done but not turn into a shelve.

Alittle something I did over the weekend.
While cleaning out the mud from my rear wheels. I had these wheels from my YJ sitting around.
Looks like they are 3.75 backspace on a 15x7 wheel.
Thought I'd mount one to see.

They stick out a bit. Here's the stock vs the other.

It does stick out a bit. Not sure how I feel about that.

I started a fab cart a few months back. Got a little more work done to it this week.

I had a larger fab table I built a decade ago, but it was took up too much space. I cut it down and started over with the scrap I had laying around.

With this cart, I wanted to consolidate as much of my fab tools as possible into a smaller and more mobile cart. You can see the plasma, vice, and old tool box are now mounted on the cart.

I mounted my little press brake I built https://www.rme4x4.com/showthread.php?18161-Metal-brake-(Attn-Ilean)&highlight=Press+brake
The press brake has been a very useful tool over the years, but I was tired of dragging it around the floor and trying to hold it upright while cranking on the ram.

The vice is mounted on a small platform that slides into some receiver tubing so it can be removed.

In other news, my mailbox fell over this week.

To replace the mailbox post, I decided to build a gabion mailbox. The pic below is what gave me the inspiration, and progress so far:

I really like that table hickey.
Giving me some good idea's.

More info on the press brake any pics of it in action.
One day I need a press to do axle stuff.

Hint-----
On the mailbox. Spiders seem to be attracted to rocks. Gives them places to hide and build homes.
I had to pour dirt over my rock garden to fill in holes.
Still have to spray liberally 3x a year to prevent them from getting bigger.
Saw a garden spider in my basement about the size of my hand. About shit a brick.

The will be an awesome shop. I wish my walls were 14ft. Gives you the option to put a mezzanine in a portion for more storage.

Replaced the battery last night with a Duracell AGM from Sam's Club (old one wasn't always wanting to start the engine and the sides were bulging), and the night before that I replaced the terminals with some brass ones.

Still having issues with it starting... Went to leave for lunch and it started fine, but when I went to go back to work it decided to not want to start the first couple of tries.

I definitely needed a new battery, but clearly something else is having issues. Guess the next thing to check is the starter relay and then the starter. The voltage was fine this time.

You mentioned that you replaced the connections with brass ones. I assume that means you didn't replace the entire cable? That's where I'd focus my attention.

Lets just say I've needed a new muffler for a while.

jERbsO7l.jpg

I had to cut all the bolts off and other than nicking the TC fins a couple times they came off without too much trouble. I went with a OEM style bolt on replacement from Bosal off amazon for $140 plus OEM gaskets to try and get it to seal well. It must have been leaking for a long while because I don't ever remember it being this quiet. I liked a little rumble but having it be quiet will be very nice too.

I was finishing up about the time my wife and son got home and the little guy felt like he needed to help. :)

Got the top of the Gabion Mailbox tacked together. I'll remove the mill scale on the top so it will rust evenly. It's removable, so I can add the rocks later.
