What do I get for the next bike?

One of the welding teachers had a go at repairing the old shifter.
I'm confident that this spare will be stronger than it was originally.

I've got a flat front from the race, so hopefully I'll fix that tonight.

Even if I ride track? Seems like folks are saying they are no good for the track.
No, they are not ideal for the track. I have my stock wheels, so I always switch after the race so I am not wearing my Moose tubes out. I guess if you had a spare wheel, it would be a more ideal situation.

Well, cross my fingers, this is my first flat. And I've been through exactly 10 tires in the past 2 years of riding.
So, I'm quite hopeful that this thicker tube will help me stay away from flats. Additionally, everything I've read, says running Bibs on the track makes for weird handling and wears them out faster. We'll see if I need a bib soon enough with this next 100 mile race.

(As a side note: I actually did get a rear flat, but it's because I ran with way too little pressure and it cut the valve stem.)

Broke another clutch cable on Satutday. Rode the day without it. Got a new one and two new Motosport Artrax brand tires on their way for the Monticello race.

The Full Bore M37 rear I ran was a good test of a less expensive tire.

I'm sold. It was better than my Maxxis Desert ITs as far as grip. It was a softer compound for an intermediate terrain tire so it did not last as long and it chunked out at the end but for literally half the cost... I can't complain much.
It was very very similar to the Dunlop Geomaxx MX31.

Let's hope thesse Artrax tires works well; they've got some excellent reviews and where only $90 for the pair! My front is so shot anything will be a huge improvement.

Also I got a new Tusk hd clutch. My stock friction pads were slipping.

I never said they were better? I've never had a hydraulic clutch in a dirtbike.

I imagine it broke from the increased tension from the rekluse. That or there is some defect with my ASV clutch perch or lever?
Or Motion Pro crimped the ferrell like crap.

Have you called Rekluse Support? I had to call them today, very helpful.

not about this, but I have before, they were very helpful and sent me a shim kit at no charge. Perhaps I'll get on the phone with them when I have it apart.

Anyways here are the new tires. I'm quite pleased with the quality just looking them over.

I've heard this brand is difficult to mount, so I'm letting them warm up in the sun for a bit.

I'll report when I have them mounted.

Also my exhaust got cracked from getting rear-ended by Kelton...

my friend took it to work to tig it up for me. It is a Dubach Racing Development aluminum silencer with stainless tubing but we think it is a weird alloy because even on the lowest setting the tig was blowing right through it, so I'm going to band it for the race Saturday.

Is it possible that it is titanium?

Yes it is possible. That is what the old weld-meister at my friend's work thinks. But I don't think it quite matches the look of the Ti system but anything is possible.
I used an exhaust band clamp and it worked mint.

The tires went on easy. I must be getting better at it or setting them in the sun warmed them up because I did both very quickly (15-20 minutes per).

I also swapped in the new clutch, clutch cable, cleaned the air filter, new spark arrester screen, changed the oil and oil filter, and started torque checking nuts for the race.

I just need to adjust the clutch, re-oil and install the air filter when it dries tomorrow and lube the chain and I should be ready for the race.
