Those of you that followed the wrecked Ford Escape saga... first off screw USAA. They never pick up the phone, and never call you back.
But they did pay me way more than that car was worth once it finally got considered a "Total Loss."

Decided to support South Korea in their battle against communism and got a "2018 Hyundai Sante Fe Limited Ultimate"
A slight mouthful but seems like a great car. Internet claims that that is the best year ever for the Sante Fe. It's got the third row that my wife so deeply desired. Plus all the extras that they offered at the time.

I hope you guys like it. I’m not sure what I’d pick between a ford car and a Korean car. I hope I never have to…

We have a 2011 Kia Sorento and it's been a fantastic vehicle. Other than being slow, it's been trouble free. 226k and counting. It's basically the ugly sister to a Santa Fe.
I too have a throwaway 2011 Sorento, V6, SX, AWD, does what I need it to do and get me around. Been daily driving it 4-5 years now, have done struts, bushings and alternator. Think I'm around 164k.

I’ve pulled that hill with my box trailer in tow with a hellacious headwind and didn’t see above 3 mpg on the instant read out. Had a headwind all the way home. I almost stopped in Parawan for fuel but pushed to Fillmore and made it. Averaged like 7 mpg between hurricane and Fillmore. Ouch.

It's a good day when I see anything over 7mpg in my 6.2. If I keep it under 65, with a tail wind, maybe 8mpg.

We did a trip to St George in the wind, could hardly hit 60-65 mph, and saw less than 4mpg.
