Yes, it's an old (but freshly rebuilt) vertical end mill. Next on the list is a lathe for the home shop.
That's riflesmithing talk.

I'm thinking 1 but that mirror finish inside the bed sure makes it look like 2.How many pieces of wood?

I love the color with your paint!
That's awesome. My dad gave me a Husky suitcase toolset when I was 16ish. I've lost the 8mm and broken one extension. My 3 boys all tore bikes and cars apart with that set too. It's priceless to me and still in use 30 years later.Maybe not too crazy, but found this in an old toolbox of mine tonight.
My dad gave me this, was my very first socket set when I was around 9 or 10, about 18 years ago! Definitely just sentimental with not much value otherwise, since there’s no metric!

You still have the 10mm? That’s odd. That's awesome. My dad gave me a Husky suitcase toolset when I was 16ish. I've lost the 8mm and broken one extension. My 3 boys all tore bikes and cars apart with that set too. It's priceless to me and still in use 30 years later.
