This is what happened to my Dad at the capitol theater when he would work there doing security at nights.

The office he sat in was just feet from the elevator and overlooked the stage area. His job was to make "Rounds every hour and check every floor ( I think 3?) to make sure everything was ok. He said while sitting in the office the elevator light would light up and the elevator would take off and get to the top then the lights would come back on and it would come back down the doors would open and just a few seconds later you could hear footsteps going across the wooden stage. he said he hated this more than anything it would freak him out and he said it would do it all night and just at random times. He would go out there flip on the stage lights and there would be nothing. He said there is the costume room in the basement and he said that would really freak him out going in there with all the mask and crap hanging on the walls. But the one thing that happened to him that made him quit this part time job was when he was on the top floor doing his rounds. He said you come to this long hallway with a total of 20-30 door running down it and it was set up like 15 or so on each side and his job was to walk this hallway and check all the doors to make sure they were locked etc. he walked down the hall checked all the doors and everything was locked. When he got to the end of the doors he went just a tad farther to do something i dont remember what but when he turned around all 30 doors were open and every single trash can from the rooms were in the hall sitting in front of the doors:eek: He said he had never been so scared in his life! He had to proceed to put all the cans back and lock the doors and he said when he was done with the last door he never turned around to check and went straight for the elevator and went back to the office to sit and watch the elevator make its rounds to every floor by its self and then listen to the foot steps that would follow the doors opening. He said that the other guys had experienced the stage lights coming on and hearing cheering and clapping and they seen things sitting out in the chairs staring at the stage. They had said the stage curtains would open and close by them selfs. My dad said most guys lasted about a night or maybe 2 before quiting he said they went thru a ton of security guys:rofl: My dad says he doesn't care to every go back to that place:rofl:

I didn't used to believe in ghost and then I was in the uintahs and I saw what I assume to be the ghost of a bearded, gay, Australian rancher walking around. He hung out in the camp for a few days and then disappeared never to be seen again(until maybe next year).
I have heard tell of others seeing the same ghost driving an old land cruiser around.

gaydar works on the dead as well. plus I could see the pockets hanging out of the bottom of the cutoff levi shorts:eek:. If that isn't gay then I was mistaken.

Way to ruin the thread Davy. ;)

You wouldn't say that if you had seen this particular apparition. I know it was a ghost due to the bleached appearance of the legs.

the ghost of ole Beardy Mcgay

I really do believe in ghosts

I was at a friends house hanging out. We were playing darts and joking about the house being haunted. the darts kept falling out of the dart board and we were saying "oh the ghost doesn't like darts". then I got up and sunk the dart as hard as I could into the board. I didn't throw it I pushed it in with my hand till the needle part was 100% buried. I said, "lets see it come out now". Then a little bit later when about 5 of us were looking straight at the board it came straight out and fell to the floor. straight back out of the board as if pulled by an invisible hand! That house had some messed up stuff happen in it. I wouldn't live in it if someone gave it to me for free.

I've heard some pretty crazy stories about some Alpine locals up in the hills around Lone peak/Horse tail falls finding a kill (a deer I think) ripped up, and then getting reeeeaaally bad feelings like they really need to get out of there while smelling a really foul (not dead) animal smell that smelled like a wet dog/human B.O......I get the chills just thinking about when the old guy told me the story! He's been around the area for a long time and firmly believes that bigfoot, or whatever you want to call it is up there.

I've seen something similar to that up in the Lone Peak area: a ripped up creepy looking animal (It looked like a lion to me) followed by a really creepy feeling, and we booked it out of there. I had forgotten about that 'till you mentioned it.

I also believe in "good" ghosts that aren't scary at all.

I do believe in ghost. :ugh:

Go figure.

And no, I'm not trying to stir the pot, and no I haven't seen a ghost. I just think that with most peoples beliefs, all that I posted goes hand in hand.

Do you ever get visited by sheep?

I used to see things in the 70's, but they were all chemically induced. Been a non-believer for 30+ years now... :D

I have been up AF Canyon a total of 4 times in my life, being from up north, we just never go down. I spent a total of what amounts to about 1/2 of a night. We were run out of our campsite by a flying beam of light. It literally moved above us like it was on a supersonic helicopter that never made noise. It swooped at us for nearly 20 minutes before we tossed our tents and camping gear into the trucks and left. The light was very bright and would move back and forth at incredible speed. It could cover 100 yards or more in nearly the snap of a finger. My friend's wife has never been camping since that night. We can't get her to go. When it started, she left camp to go wee about 50 feet from the fire. The light first appeared right over her while she had her pants and panties around her ankles. I can still see in my mind her screaming and running while trying to pull up her pants with this bright light above her maybe 50 feet. Funny now, scarey as hell then.

Has anyone else had this experience up there? This happened in the late 1980's. I don't know where exactly other than we were camped up by a lake. I don't think its a lower lake, is there a higher lake up there?

More stories to come later, I lived in a place that was soooo haunted in Hawaii. I get goose bumps even thinking about it. Nightly occurances, two ghosts, one nice and one evil, very evil and he hated one of my roommates.

I love camping up AF canyon. It's a beautiful place and I've had good luck so far (knock on wood). I'll definitely be camping up there many more times in the future.

That was me. It's a special light only carried by us perverts. Just let her know it's safe to go camping again. Really!!!
