Needed an endstop for my vice so I could use that as an x-axis reference point, when flipping parts to machine pieces from multiple sides.

It rips around pretty good with the bigger engine and torque converter. The best part is getting him in the garage and turning wrenches together. He has an Ag Tech class this next year in high school with his older brother and is really excited for welding and cutting classes. I'll teach him the basics, but I'm rusty enough on my own welding, I'm going to try and hold off on some of it so that he doesn't get any of my bad habits to work struggle with.

All in one day. Large wall with TV was previously a lighter green. Wall we put the trim on was builder beige. We got started early, 10 am to buy the trim. Bought paint about noon. Finished about 1:30 am. Kind of a busy Saturday

Fixed an ignition cover today. Tried @zmotorsports recommended TIG parameters. I need to perhaps get a bigger cup and to be more comfortable playing with balance but they seemed to work well.
I have trouble getting my plasma column small enough. The "cone" sometimes seems too wander or widen (especially when I'm welding inside shapes near walls).
Maybe a different tungsten as well.
Crack.
Inside.
Stator pickup bolt stripped so I tacked a Phillips head to it. Worked well enough.
Smoothed out.
A little paint
Not so bad looking.
A little satin clear when this dries and it'll be good as new.

Replaced the transmission cooler bypass valve on Mama's Audi today. I spent forever trying to figure out where it is because every other Audi in the universe sticks it near the driver side wheel well, but because this thing is supercharged it's hidden on top of the bell housing behind the supercharger so the whole air box has to come off but then it wasn't too bad to change.... I just wasted a bunch of time pulling all the under cladding off just to trace the cooler lines up the side of the bell housing.
This repairs a p 2754 (coolant valve open error) or p2755 (coolant valve closed error). I guess if left unchecked the valve leaks coolant And it wicks up the electrical line into the TCU and can kill it. Luckily mine hadn't started leaking.
Audi wanted as much as $1,100-$1500 to fix this and I think the part was 140 bucks.

While on a break from erecting a small metal building to store the Ranger in, I installed a new and much higher tow hook on the old Bayliner. Hopefully this gets the tow rope out of the water and makes things more enjoyable for the kids.

Those look awesome! Do you use the fancy corten steel or just regular ol’ plate? How thick? I have so many questions 😃

We did regular old plate. 1/4" for all of it.... the big box was heavy....

My 13 year old daughter slid my truck into a ravine Thanksgiving weekend a year and a half ago.
My wife bought me a new wind dam for that Christmas.
Today I finally got it replaced.
I went with a shorter one, and am really happy with the way it looks over the stock one.
You can still see that the bumper is bent and a little wavy at the bottom. But overall, it’s 99% better and I’m plenty happy enough.

No she’s one of those kids that has been driving for years, and this was a blind ravine, uphill, in the sun.
She gets VERY mad if we bring it up without explaining the details.
She had been driving for more than an hour at this point. I would have hit it also.

I have had warped rotors on the Raptor for about the last 10,000 miles. Finally got around to replacing them with a set of Powerstop rotors and pads. 
I actually enjoy doing some of this work now that I have a lift. It would have been a lot nicer to not be surrounded by ElCamino parts
I wish I could have built my shop about 6 feet wider. I could have done a 10’ door on the lift side. It’s a tight squeeze getting in and out.

That's funny, I fixed mine a week ago. It wasn't ripped but the bolts were pulled through so I used big fender washers
No matter how big it is, we always want bigger.
