Anyone have experience working with ripstop nylon.

40 years ago we used to make our sleeping mags out of rip stop and down. My advice, do not sew by hand, double fold the the edges and use a Bernini sewing machine because we had better luck with them. We also found that if they were next to something that constantly rubbed against them they...

The future of Diesel powered vehicles, neat stuff

Just saw the site. Very interesting, my brother in law, nuclear engineer, says that diesel will be the fuel of choice in about 10 years in the US just like it is in Europe. All government has to do to make it happen is increase taxes on gas and lower them on diesel. Of course you realize that...

    Grand cherokee ?

Flip a coin or spit into the wind. There is no definitive answer to your question. How was it driven, what did it tow, how was it taken care of, how will you use it, etc. etc. There are model A's still running so my advice is select the vehicle you want for what you will do and take care of...

Anyone have any .22 LR ammo they'd be willing to sell me?

In the old days, 10 to 20 years ago, I would only buy when it was on sale and whatever I shot I always replaced as soon as the next sale. I guess sales are a thing of the past. The last 500 I bought was at Walmart.

    La Renault 5 Turbo

This is the only picture I could find. This was taken at a ROCA Driver Training day at the Los Alimitos Race Track parking lot June of 1958. I had on my ROCA badge and Baret which was mandatory apparel. I did find a movie of Stirling Moss driving a Cooper at the Riverside Raceway but it had...

    La Renault 5 Turbo

Boy does this bring back memories. I owned Renault Caravelle's and raced Dauphin's with Gordini heads 902cc and cut springs. 95 MPH in the back straight at the Riverside Raceway. Never won a thing. The Le Car Renault 5 had a class of its own in the 1970's and Ray Block raced a R8 at Dodger...
