    Shock mounting question

My son's comanche has them off the back of the axle with a bit of an angle back and they ride fine. I'm looking at the commando mounts and inside the wheel well might work but comes close on wheel rub when articulating. I probably should have gotten a shorter shock but I am still going to try...

    Jeepster Commando's

A CJ6 or scrambler frame would be close but probably harder to find. I guess I shouldn't have cut up the extra commando frame that I had (I used pieces of it to widen my commando frame).

    Shock mounting question

OK I'll try to keep them vertical. I have been doing some calculating and I'll need to measure to see if I can keep the wheels from rubbing them when one tire is stuffed and the other is down (if I mount them out in the wheel wells).

    Shock mounting question

I'm to the point on my commando project that I need to figure out the best shock mounting position for the rear four link. I picked up a set of long travel Ranchos and it looks like I can mount them one of two ways. The first method would be a long shock tower that would go up into the wheel...

    92 XJ Running Rich?

I would look at the O2 and temp sensors. I have also seen cracked exhaust manifolds cause a rich condition because too much exhaust leaks out before the O2 sensor. Cracks on the manifolds are very common on these jeeps.

    Its such a good feeling....

Some of us didn't lose the knack (or common sense) when we graduated from engineering school. People keep sending me links to that video because I'm always tearing stuff up and fixing it.

2011 grand cherokee on hells revenge

Last year we saw a guy with a brand new Toureg on Hell's and they beat the crap out of it. The funny thing was when we drove by their dog was in the drivers seat and they were out walking around.

    3 link ???

I wish someone could give me an idea as to how much triangulation could be allowed or how much triangulation would be required to omit the panhard. I know that the stock jeep setup does have some triangulation and a panhard. On my latest project I have more triangulation than a stock jeep does...

    vernon wonderstone pits

There are several beds south west of the U-dig beds west of Delta. One bed between the u-dig and Marjoram canyon has them in red rock. We found some in the shale in Marjorum canyon near the trailhead to Chainsaw. Fossil mountain and the mountains around them are supposed to also have them. I...

    3 link ???

I've already been acused of being that nerdy engineer who over designs everything. I could probably take a look, however I am using rubber bushings at one end of every link so I might be ok. Its been a big enough headache to get everything to fit as it is. if I were doing some of the frame...

    vernon wonderstone pits

The septarian nodules came from the Orderville area. 5MP would be alot closer if I knew where to go. I also have lapidary tools but need to use them more. I might try polishing some of the fossils we found. I would also like to make some jewelry for my wife and daughters but I have never been...

    3 link ???

So how much triangulation is allowable to still use the pan hard ? On my commando project it has some triangulation on the uppers to miss the motor mounts and some on the lowers to allow the lowers to not rub the tires at full turn. The only way to lower the upper triangulation would be to bend...

    vernon wonderstone pits

We go rockhounding quite often. We have collected garnets, topaz, geodes, quartz crystals, horn coral, septarian nodules, petrified wood, calcite crystals, smoky quartz, wonder stone, fossils, and lots of other rocks. Our last trip two weekends ago was a fossil tour of Millard county where we...

    Relic Run 2010

I better get the 73 commando finished by then ! As far as the other relics to bring along that's not an issue since I'm a relic from the 50's.

    th400 to 700r4

You can also find the 700r4/241 case in the full sized blazers of the same years. I got my setup from an 89 Blazer. The 241 gives you a better low range than the 208. I have two 700r4s and three 241s. One of the 241s is for a th400, and one is for the 700r4, and the last one was from a 91 dodge...
