Unfortunately, lots of private property and acess issues. For a couple years there had been some issues as to private property vs road access issue in the local paper (Tooele Transcript) now and then, but I have not heard anything recently.

Going back to my previous post, I will admit and give credit that he (thread starter) has shown good attitude and minimal blame to the UHP. I too wish more of the folks with issues would follow the example.

They did have air lockers on the early Montero Sports. I believe it was only with the 3.0 l engine, thuse the smaller axle as noted in earlier post. I don't know if it is the same axle as was in the Montero generation you mentioned, but logically could be. I'll see if I can find out.

I would suspect the axle would be the same as was in Montero Sports, in which case the generation with the air locker options used 9" gears, 1.2" shaft diameter. But, I do not know for fact they used the same axle. The newer Sports (with the 3.5L engines) are 9.5" gear, 1.4 diameter shaft...

The cabin would probably be far more comfortable than the tents on the beach! One guy there I talked to (he taught Sunday School at the LDS Branch) said some of the nights in the tent are pretty rough, espicially when the wind picks up. But of course, the beach is free and open to the public...
