Wearing a spare as a tophat?

I've never carried or even owned a spare. At the present time i run hummer wheels with the run flat still in them, but i'm running 42's so that makes a difference when it comes to airing down. before the hummer wheels were your standard run of the mill 36 bolt beadlocks. with those i carried...

    XJ Axle upgrade

I don't understand why folks are saying ball joints are a con...the ones in a ford 60 are designed to hold the weight of a 7.3 diesel on a ton (and larger) truck. for some reason I don't think your XJ is gona weigh that much. I have ran both king pin and ball joint axles with 42's for years...

    XJ Axle upgrade

92-95 ford. reverse cut, driver side, ball joint, regular hubs (no unit bearing) and a (regular) lug pattern. they do come with the dual piston calipers so a stock master cylinder would be out of the question, but if you're gona run tons a brake upgrade should be on the list too...FWIW...

    Cherokee Build Questions

a ford 8.8 will give you factory disc brakes and can be easily found with 4.10 gears from the factory. plus it already has the correct bolt pattern. it's a C clip axle but i've seen them take some pretty serious abuse (stroker 6 cyl) and hold up just fine.

    break upgrade tj/yj

I used a hydroboost setup off a 2001 ford superduty. all ya got to do is shorten the factory bracket btwn the vacuum booster and the firewall so the rod sticks into the firewall the same amount as the factory setup. Run an extra power hose to the unit and back to your box/orbital valve and a low...

EFI Engine Swap into CJ5, opinions please!

for just a little more work, you could also put ford injection on it. the extra work would be in the intake manifold. but you'd be getting mass air instead of speed density and multi port instead of tbi. you'd have to swap the pins in the computer plug for the injectors to match your firing...

    Got a couple of questions

I'm from East Tennessee and have been to Moab a couple of times over the years. The club I'm in (atomic city fourwheelers) is planning a trip out your way in a couple of months. I was just wondering what the local law enforcement has to say about rigs with tons and no fenders, hydraulic...
