Looks good i like the mud flaps mine are detachable too but i used angle iron not as nice but it works, when you going to finish it so we can go wheel it
p.s your shocks are upside down, shocks are valved to go one way when you flip them were the shock shaft is down it can mess them up just a heads up

I'm 99% sure your shocks are mounted correctly. Trailgear mounts all theirs just like you did Brandon, with the skinny part (boot) at the bottom.

pretty sure some shocks can only be mounted one way but i think it depends on the shock..

X2

Those shocks can be mounted either way. They often are softer when mounted upside down though. Only the twin tube shocks have to be mounted with the shaft up.

like i said they can mess them up but it sounds like others know that your kind of shock is fine but they look like bilsteins and if i remember correctly i thought those do have to be mounted shaft up hmmm oh well

Marlin puts them with the skinny leg on bottom too. And the remote resis have the reservoir at the top, so you'd want the skinny at the bottom on those too. I don't think it hurts anything to run them "upside down', they work the same way either way.

Here's the info I found:

An emulsion shock such as a Bilstein 5100 series is pressurized. Therefore the orientation of the shock does not affect its performance. Similar to a coil over or any other Nitrogen charged shock. Can up, or can down, is all the same thing.

And i found it on the internet so it MUST be true

" I spoke with Justin at Bilstein & here's the info he passed along to me WRT the 5100's & 5150's:

When the shocks are ordered, you should get a product info sheet which informs you which way the shocks *should* be mounted (can up or down). Don't stop there though.......

What that means is; according to the mounts, application, etc, the instructions will reflect what's suppose to work on your application.

HOWEVER, if your mounts are configured or altered so that there's room for the shocks to be mounted can up or can down, and there's no room issues, the 5100's & 5150 can be mounted in either direction due to the internal configuration of components used to build the shocks.

My additional input:

If you try to flip them around (run them can up) and there's not enough room & the tubes contact something - that's your fault, not the shocks fault.

So, run them as you see "fit".

sparticus, we've gotta meet in person, you seem like a really cool guy. Let's set up a little moab or snakes run for all of us so we can see Brandon's rig in action.
