That's BS!!
you guys are i silly. this more then likely has nothing to do with uhp. i agree with u about the mudflaps its dumb in the safety book it says any tire larger then oem your required to have mud flaps. come on people have some common sense a tire one may be two inchs bigger isn't going to change much if they fit under the vehicle like they should
UHP doesnt normally handle any of those
IMO, yes it is fraud by definition.Does seem very odd they would go to the extent of revoking registration over any of this.
I think we all know that a vehicle isn't required to meet safety/street legal requirements only at the exact moment of inspection, but a 'fix it' ticket seems far more reasonable than revoking registration.
I have a question for anyone with factual knowledge of the law in this regard. Would it be considered 'fraud' in a legal sense if you knowingly alter a vehilce so it passes while planing to return it to an illegal form? If a shop knew this to be the case, could they (not saying they should) report it?
It seems like we are only getting one side of the story here.
You might have missed the previous thread where the uhp was staking out one of the inspection shops.
For you that are defending the UHP on this, put your blinders back on and go away. This is a pure case of harassment because one UHP officer got his panties in a wad when he misinterpreted where and why Marcus took this Jeep to an outside inspection station. Read the first thread (carefully) and open your eyes.
But you take a combination of the threads and the revocation of his reg *MAY* be justified. He put on stock (or smaller) tires, etc so he could pass. Gets is passed and puts his 35s back on. This is fraud. He defrauded the system. If he had kept everything he did to get it to pass safety on as his DD, then it would be a different story. For you that are defending the UHP on this, put your blinders back on and go away.
