Damn! Sorry man... I tried. He said he had FJC rims, so I just assumed they were the 17's, because the 16's aren't that common. Derek is a good guy though, definitely always willing to do whatever it takes to help.

We did the unpossible.. The one thing that NOBODY thought would happen.. We finished the race! We had ongoing problems with the truck, over-heating due to the radiator under the hood being the main issue. Other challenges were all 4 shocks blew out, a quick boogery weld on a motor mount at the halfway point due to an attempted pass that turned into a 10ft jump into a ditch, then launching off the other side of said ditch.. The radiator mounts broke, which was fixed with 87 zip ties. Our rear amber/blue lights stopped working at sone point between the 75-90mile mark.. Not a huge deal when your the last vehicle in the overall field.

Our first lap was 3hrs 5mins, and our second lap was 3hrs 23mins. We made it to the end in a 24y/o Toyota 4runner rockcrawler turned half-assed desert rig.. According to my GPS our average moving speed was 30mph, with our top speed reaching a whopping 68mph. We came in second place in the 4400 class behind Team Fred.. Who was about 45mins ahead of us each lap.. They were haulin ass in that bronco. We placed 13th overall out if 19 vehicles. I might add that our pre-running Xterra kicked the course's ass the day before. Our handheld GPS worked out great. Thought we might have some troubles with it, but it worked flawlessly.

To all those that had a hand in volunteering their time to make this race happen, we thank you. To all those who supported MountainYoats 4x4 in any way that they could large or small, we thank you! To all those who said we couldn't do it, thank you for the fuel to feed our fire.

Thanks for sacrificing your rig Robby. That was a weekend to remember. Thanks to Redd for getting the 4400 class rollin.. And looking over our rig at 2am Wednesdy night. I hope more guys see that this is possible for them to do. Thank you to our business sponsors, Cruiser Oufitters, Teraflex, Utah Powder Coatings, RME and more..

You guy's kick ass!
Sorry I was no help or anything, But I think what you guy's did was awesome!

Thanks Brian!

We got around 4 hours of video with our on-board camera.. There should be some photos around as well, as I swear there were always numerous cameras aimed our direction anytime we were near the pit.. We'll put together some videos and post up as soon as we can.

Congrats guys!! I think it's very impressive that you guys even finished with all those problems! Is Robby going to keep racing? I would love to hear more about it, really wish I made it out to the race.

The mini buggy chassis that Rob picked up from Aaron Clough will be the next rock-racing vehicle.. The loose plan is a 3.4, SC'd if possible, and manual tranny. Most likely D60's, but of course nothing is concrete.

We even pulled a little VW 9 car buggy up the silty, rocky climb during our first lap..

The comradery with these racers was incredible. We are now hooked into this racing.. Alot of fun!!

.... Didn't see slcpunk74 after the race. What happened buddy?

Congrats again guys! It was fun helping out!

we appreciated all your efforts to support us Kurt. I know Rob was pretty fired up during our pit, and I think that we both saw the second lap as quite daunting, and I got the feeling that Rob too figured the truck would give up the ghost on lap 2 somewhere.. Your calm and collected comments and reassurance helped alot.

Congratulations on finishing! I hope we can make it to the next one but from what I can find it won't be until next year.

we hope to be back next race!
