Well, it drove out there great. Alignment is great, not weird shimmies or shakes. Brakes need to be upgraded, they're not stopping like I'd like. (could be my soft suspension). It sure is nice having rear shocks.

I didn't get many pics from yesterday's trip, hoping tyler or someone else did.

Well, my tacoma isn't selling, so rather than give it away, I figure I'm going to have to give up on the tow rig idea and get some 5.29s for this so I can drive it to St George and moab. Maybe I'll sas the taco with 37s in a year or two.

Are you thinking doing disc in the rear?

nah, I want an ebrake, and I'm sure the rear has plenty of stopping power. I think discs in the rear are totally overrated. I'm going to look for another ifs rear axle so I can put ebrakes back on.

Man, it's been a while since I've updated this thread. I sold my suspension seats and now I'm working on bracketry to install my celica seats. I've been working on my sliders a bit as well. I should have at least the driver's slider done this weekend.

I also took my truck to the scales to weigh it, and it weighed in at 3410 lbs. That number will only go up as I add sliders and an exo.

i wouldnt SAS the taco. keep it street friendly. you have your 81 to wheel now. and as for a e brake, just put a line lock or even a tcase output brake on it.

also if you want, I have a brand new fj80 master cyl i need to unload. let me know.

Thanks for the offer on the FJ80 MC. I just installed a new one a few months ago.

I'm still wanting to go back to a cable ebrake in case my hydraulics fail. Since I've got a clocked rear case, I can't run the t-case ebrake and keep my flat belly. So the only option is a line lock or going back to factory. Since I don't plan on running discs in the rear, I'd like to go back to a factory ebrake setup.

As far as a SAS on the taco, I'm wanting to sell it now so I won't be tempted to SAS it :D

I finally got the front turn signals installed in the side lenses, and I got a seatbelt! And my driver's seats is installed. So I'm as street legal as I'm going to be for a little while. I still need a licence plate holder and I need to hook up my light for my plate. I'm still not sure how I'm going to mount it, but I'll think of something.

I also made bumpstops, but I haven't welded them on yet.

With my taco out of commission for a week or two, this thing has been and will continue to be my daily driver. I wish I had 5.29s!

It's starting to get cold, and I lose all my motivation to work outside when it gets cold.

Next up:
- attach front bumpstops (I don't need rears for a while, they still need to break in)
- mount Licence plate and light
- Finish sliders
- install pass seat and seatbelt
- paint interior
- Peel n seal interior
- Add carpet and pad to interior
- Get the dash together and get the heater working (and plug those stupid vent holes that are left open on these 1st gens.
- Find some IFS rear drums and get an ebrake working
