I do to. But it has to be double sided velcro with slits in the lexan. So you more or less are tieing the lexan panel to the cage. Super easy to remove but should get the job done.

I think thats what I am going to go for.......I think

Got very little done today.

I did manage to blow up my plasma cutter so my days plans got changed. I decided to dink with a few small things.

I got the throtle cable hooked up to the pedal and started playing with the grille.

I got a KILLER deal on these Lightforce lights so I decided they need to go in place of the old halogens.

After welding on just a flat plate I could tell the lights were going to jiggle. I couldnt think of a nice was to gusset it so this is what I came up with.

Just a couple pieces of 1/4 solid rod bent and welded into place

I also trimmed down the center material of the grille to fit. Gotta love the blinging IH symbol

Im happy with it. Just got to finish welding the 2 halfs together and get to work with a flap disk

Thanks Bart! I was really excited when I saw how close the lights were going to be from the chrome bezel. Its just enought room to be able to adjust a little. I think once the chrome is shined and the rust is removed from the inside and painted....it should look like they really belong there.

Matt....your coming to EJS right?

As of right now, it is looking like I will be there for atleast one night. Probably won't be with the truck (again :() due to the construction. But, I am planning on bringing a Jeep again like back in October. There is also the chance that I will miss it completely because of the fact that Kyra is in school and my Mom might have to be going out of town for a conference. I don't like to pull Kyra from school unless I have to for illness, and I have nothing against bringing the girls with me for going wheeling, unless it is cold and snowy. Although with EJS being late in April this year I am hoping that we will have great weather instead of the white stuff like last year! ;)
Looking forward to seeing everyone and the newest modifications to the rigs too!!!

FINALLY got to do a little bit to the Scout today.

Bad news is I dont know if I like it.

Bent a little tube.

scout021.jpg

I love how it looks from the front. The main thing Im not liking is the length of the hood. I moved it forward a bit to leave some room for misc. fluid coolers in front of the motor. It looked fine until I put the tube up there. It will still have a negative approach angle with the winch but I dont know. Maybe when I get more tubes on there for the fenders it wont look so long

Here is a crappy pic of the radiator and fan Im going to be running. The radiator is a monster. Its out of a NASCAR so I should be able to go fass an turn leff really good. The fan is a Lincoln Mark VIII and is supposed to make the Taurus fan look like a chump. We'll see

It is a little difficult to tell with the front tires turned as they are but, I think the approach angle is still killer. I think what I am seeing is the lack of a windshield makes the front end look a little longer. Maybe if you stick the windshield frame back up on the front it would not look so long. Is it easy to place on the Scout for a look see?

looks good, i like what you have done. I want to build one of these, my fist car was a 67 IH 800 with the v8. i loved it, wish I never sold it.

I think it looks better with a windshield. just completes it to me.

I would also fill in the gaps in the tube work to make a partial fender...

Little progress today

Got the winch mount in. I decided rather than move the grille in for a better approach angle to just move the winch back

I took my driveline in to be lengthened. They didnt want to do it and tried to sell me a whole new shaft. I dont have money for that right now so I did the lengthening myself with a piece of 2" tube. Should work fine for now
