Took an incredible ride this weekend all over Southern Colorado with a old and new friends from Utah, 2 of them are RME members. They were on sport-cruisers and ride HARD! I'm not used to riding that... well, aggressively on the road. I think we pissed of a LOT of people.

I put 1,100 miles on the KTM Adventure over 3 days and we rode all day, usually getting dinner and our hotels well after dark. We went over the Continental Divide a couple times and rode some of Colorado's best mountain backroads. We got a little rain each day, traveled a thru some beautiful places and had a blast. I managed to scrape my pegs a couple times and also scraped the sides of my hard luggage 8-9 times laying the bike down in the corners!! Never done that before... the 990 with knobbies can carve up the asphalt pretty damn well! :freak:

No pics or video worth sharing... too busy riding. :D

Wow that's awesome Greg! I wouldn't dare lay a bike over that had luggage racks. I wish I could find some peeps to do rides with in the Aprillia

It freaked me out each time... the hard bags are now dented and scraped up on the front-bottom corner. Scraping the pegs really spooked me, amazed that I got that big bike that low.

I was pushing it hard, but having great fun. It's impressive how hard the Adventure can be ridden on the road, it's an amazing bike... I was impressed how well it did running at 75+ MPH for long periods over curvy, sweeping roads.

We rode 5 Mile Pass Wednesday and Bountiful Thursday.

We rode pretty much the most aggressive stuff ever at 5 mile, found a few climbs we couldn't climb even after multiple attempts.

somehow photos do not do these climbs justice.

Bountiful

we did Tuttle Loop backwards. So so So So fun and fast!

Also I got to ride an Osso 300 fuel injected 2t trails bike around a bit yesterday. It was pretty cool, but I don't know if I could get super into it: I didn't start dirtbiking to go slow and crash, I already have a rock crawler for that.

My phone was nearly dead or I would have GPS'd it, but it's near the north eastern border. Just west of the split in the road the goes private property to the east and 5 mp to the left. The climb in the photos was doable (we did it) but Kevin stalled on it easily 7 times. Probably was 2 miles long. The two climbs we couldn't make were near the summit of one of the peaks and.... well they were 2nd gear pinned steep shale then ledges where I wheelied over like 3 or 4 times and dented my clutch cover.

Rode some track on Thursday. Got the double set back. Undershot a jump twice and hyper-pronated my ankle... ouch. I'll be back in a week or so to the track but for now I have to wear high tops laced up real tight..

I think we were there for about 4.5 hours. My rear tire is about trashed.
