The upcoming moto ride/quick report.

Yes, it could've been much worse. And yes I'm surprised it doesn't happen more. I never thought about it before it happened the first time. I think about it a lot more now. It's just crazy to me that in all those millions of acres we ride in, there happens to be someone going the same place at the same time on the wrong side of the trail.

This is a fear I have, especially up AF canyon. I am not advocating for one way trails, but I would sure open my bike up a little more if I knew it was safer. Even at lower speeds in AF I have has some close calls.

I've never had a collision with another rider, but I did tear out a barbed wire gate once with my bike. I opened and layed down one of those rancher's gates, went in about 10 miles then turned around. Never saw anyone the whole time, so I figured the gate was still down. Came around the bend going about 50 when I noticed the gate back up. I was able to slow down to maybe half that speed, but still plowed into it. Wish I had video.

My biggest fear riding dirt roads on the DR is hitting on oncoming car....

I've had several close calls on dirt roads while riding the big adventure bikes with cars being in my lane or taking up all the road... as long as I have enough time/room to get by, I usually angrily point to 'their' side of the road and make them VERY aware that they're in the wrong and they almost took me out on the bike. I've flipped people off before... I hope they understand why or it's a lost cause.

I also had a couple dumbass guys riding 4wheelers almost run into me... I saw them coming and there were a couple turns between me & them, so I slowed down and moved right against the shoulder. Even after doing that, they came burning around the corner side-by-side, sliding around and still almost took me out. I had to run off the road to miss them.... jackasses! :mad2:

Headed to St George tonight with the gang to ride out in the Arizona Strip tomorrow. There will be one of the new KTM Freerides and one of the guys just bought a new GasGas 300. Can't wait to toss a leg over both of them

Anyone up for a ride at White Wash (Green River) thru Dead Cow Wash and the Tubes this upcoming Saturday? I'm thinking meet up at 9 AM at the freeway exit and be riding by 10 AM. It's supposed to be 62 degrees out there! :freak:

Check your hour meter......if you have 50 hours on your bike, you are due for a new top end.:greg::cody:

I need to do a local test ride on the bike before I head out of town with it. I wish I could join you, it's a blast down there

I wish I could join you but I have been screwing off every weekend for the last 3 weeks. Twice in St George and then snowmobiling last weekend and then headed to St George again the week after this weekend.
