Chance, his cousin, and I are just going up Provo canyon up Squaw peak road. There is a gate near the top where it turns to a dirt road. It is the road that goes from hope campground to hobblecreek. Last time I did it last week it was 8 miles both ways. It'll be further now. I just want to get Chance out on his new bike.

My 690 hasn't been running right for some time, finally got it in the shop this week and they fixed it up right! Decided to go out for a quick day ride today, from my place thru the Colorado National Monument, into Glade Park and did a loop in the Dolores Triangle. I got rained on a little at the highest elevation and was chased by thunderstorms most of the day, but managed to stay dry for the most part.

I learned a few things about the 690 today... it jumps and lands VERY well for a big bike. :freak: At 7,000' elevation and on a dirt road, it tops out at 99 MPH! It is NOT a sand dunes bike... And lastly, it corners like a beast! :greg:

Here's some pics from the ride...

Had a fun quick ride up squaw peak road today towards Hobble Creek. Temperature was perfect and only one real muddy patch even with all the rain. We eventually hit snow. On the way back I wanted to try trail 060 again. Last time I rode it a week ago I only made it about 200 meters. Today we made it a little more than 1.5 miles. Very fun uphill, rocky, in aspens trail. Eventually we made it to the base of where all the grooves are cut in the mountain. Below Provo peak. That will be a crazy fun trail once the snow is all gone. I only got 2 pics of where I turned around.
