I haven't but wouldn't mind tagging along if you decide to. I'm sure I could learn some stuff from you of the area. Let me know if you're going to head up sometime this week.

I'll try and call the FS tomorrow, if it is open I may try to buzz up on Wednesday night. Around 6PM at the trailhead? It is a somewhat technical trail, tight switchbacks at the top and the trail is comprised of bowling ball sized rocks but the views at the top are worth the ride. I'm pretty sure the upper switchbacks are still under snow as they reach the 9k+ elevation... but we could still ride up to the lower mines.

I crashed really hard and ended up getting x-rays of my ribs. So far they are negative but that was from the words of a nurse practitioner. They are sending them out to get looked at by a radiologist.

Dang Russ!! Let us know if you need anything until you get healed up.

It sucks. I was doing at least 20 mph when my front end went out on my. I ended up landing on my back. I felt a pop thinking it was the bladder in my camel back because it was full. My camel back was just fine. It knocked the air out of me and immediately I knew it wasn't good. Sunday was hell, all kinds of muscle spasms. Felt like I had a knife in my back. Today, hurst like crazy but no spasms so far. Good drugs last night made sleep happen. I really hope they aren't broken but my experience with broken bones is the spasms that accompany them. I went to a night time clinic Saturday night. They took x-rays but of what I have no idea because the positions didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. There was no Doc working, just a nurse practitioner and she even said that reading x-rays was not her specialty so they would send them out Monday to be read.

I think I will try to get into a real doctor today or tomorrow. If it is broken ribs there really isn't much they can do anyway. Hopefully they are bruised and I can go riding again soon. This will give me some time to get my bike fixed up again. I have been putting off some maintenance and this will give me the time to do it.

I am not looking forward to dropping a deuce if you are following what I mean. If there is any grunting involved, its going to kill me. I may have to try some of the things Tyler wants to try on his wife to get her into labor.

Dang Russ, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I cracked a few ribs racing BMX last year and it was not fun. I can only imagine what you're feeling.

had a blast I thought my front brakes were worn out and not doing much awhile ago.

well Saturday Maddies laid her bike down 3/4 of the way up he forest lake road and broke clutch lever. So I took my front brake off and she used t as a clutch lever.

I forgot I didn't have one and man I didn't realize how much I used it and how much it helps when making sharp right turns going down hill!

Anyone up for a Swell trip this weekend? My wife is gone so I have the whole weekend to do whatever. I'm thinking leave after work on Friday, camping and riding the colored trails Saturday and heading home either Saturday night or early Sunday. I'm sure it will be hot down there but I might just be willing to deal with it. I'm definitely open to other suggestions/ideas. I just want to ride a lot this weekend. I might even take Friday off too.

Tomorrow, my riding groups ride of old men will be about a 120 mile loop between Logan Canyon, Soda Springs, Paris and back to Beaver Mountain. I am out because of busted ribs and two are out of town. Anyone feel they are up to a really cool ride?

That's an awesome ride and a great time of year for it! Wish I could get out of work I'd try to tag along.

I'm so jealous if these old guys! I wish I could check it out. What kind of routes are these?

My uncle and I will be their at 5:30. I plan on taking it easy I dumped my bike last week and hurt my hand. I have a follow up visit next Wednesday with a hand specialist but it looks like surgery will be in my near future so Im not going to push it and hurt it worse then it is.

Cool, good times. AF is best enjoyed at moderate speeds anyway. It's not a racetrack and the scenery is so amazing that I feel I miss out when I ride too fast.

I plan on riding from 40--> 157 --> 171 --> Forest Lake. Then back up 171 --> 157 --> Pole Line Pass --> continue on 157.

There's a section of 157 that's pretty technical, lots of cantaloupe sized rocks in the trail, but the 4 stroke guys shouldn't have an issue with it, even with a hurt hand.
