14-50 is most likely for a stove.
14-30 is the latest dryer plug (6-30 for older dryers when code allowed using the ground as a neutral for the 120V stuff)

Oh my gosh!! Would you guys weld already! Your never gonna learn by talking it to death. I coulda tutored you all one at a time and taught you how to stack buggers on metal by now. :)

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
My three year old stacks buggers all over the house. Drives me crazy. If that's what we wanted I guess we could have had you teach us. Do you stack nuts too? :D

Kevin, you can do that if you want. My not be worth the hassle though. Come play with what we will have there and then I could run over sometime and help you out at your place with yours.

No hassle on my end, it'll take two minutes. I'll bring it anyway and if we don't wanna hook it up, we won't.

Why do you have pictures of my welds?

Yeah, but they aren't learn'n to stack no buggers sitting there. Hell, all they need to know is the sound of bacon sizzling. That's what ya wanna hear. Hear that and your a certified welder! :)

My welder has a 6-50, I just have a 3' extension that converts it to a 14-50 so that I can take it to anyones house and use it.

Ill just bring my two hoods and give a helping hand then Josh.

will do, but mine is a 6-50 female to a 14-50 mail, so that might be opposite of what you have, but, we can easily take a plug off and put it onto yours real quick. Ill steel a male 6-50 off of one of my extension cords to swap yours for the day.

I don't really need instruction but wouldn't mind showing up to help/bs/meet people
I can bring a couple helmets as well.

Other than going over the welding stuff I hope we have some time and can talk about basic fab stuff. Things like making miter cuts, squaring up corners on a box, and maybe some info on tools I ought to have to do all that. I bought a couple clamps the other day that I thought were going to be the bees knee but when I got them home and started to use them they didn't really work out for how I had hoped to use them. Anyway, I'm going to be full of questions tomorrow and hope you guys are ready. :D

I'm sorry but I am not going to make it. Stayed home today sick in bed and I don't see me getting better by tomorrow. I hope someone is able to take advantage of this and take my place. Maybe next time. Was really looking forward to it.

It was good. We screwed around a bit and talked about this and that. I definitely got some good tips to improve my practice, and I appreciate Josh and Bret taking the time!

For those of you in the know, is there a welding supply store closer to Sandy or better than the Praxair in Salt Lake? I need to pickup a 33lb spool of .035 solid and google has a bunch of places that are closed.
