Lot of corners!
I had a great time! But my results show that I really need to practice Motocross tracks & gate starts.
I about wheelied over on the start haha!
I’ve said it a thousand times. If you want to improve as an off road racer, train on a MX track. If you really want to improve your off road skills, spend some money on some MX clinics. MX training will teach you proper body position, teach you how to brake and corner, etc. Almost every off road racer I have watched charge a corner try and pivot and race like hell out of the corner. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Brake early, set up for a corner and be on the gas through a corner. This is also why off road racers struggle with ruts. They slam into them and the bike is unsettled when they try and go through it…..or they watch their from tire and not the exit of the rut. If you set up before you are in the rut and are on the gas, your tires will ride the back of the rut instead of on the inside edge causing you to lose balance.
When it comes to jumps off road racers either pull up on the bike on take off or stand up out of an attack position……They don’t flow with the bike. You will see in this video how Jacks overall position doesn’t change much when the bike slams into the 3rd roller. Most off road racers will try and pull back which them pitches them forward.
watch the
RMX website for Riley’s winter training schedule down in Mesquite. He is a good trainer and will get you dialed in.
