Great report, Melissa! Sure will be glad when it gets warm again...

    New Moab Samurai project

Too cold and snowy to go wheelin' this weekend, so we got some done on the project. Our goals are to build a very capable rig, but it still has to be street legal (or at least legal enough to get by). Jim is retired, lives in Moab, and virtually all of his wheeling is done here (100+ trail days...

    Just curious

Drive: Samurai, very modified, mostly street-legal Prefer: I'd like to re-build it, same basic design but cleaned up. More power would be nice, but not necessary. (If I had the money, I'd love to have an expedition-style 4-door Rubicon or something similar for camping trips and easier trails...

    New Moab Samurai project

Those of you that have wheeled with my friend Jim in his gray "BADCAT" Samurai know that it is very capable, but he decided he wanted to take it up a notch. So we are gathering parts and starting on his new rig. It's going to be a slow build, but hopefully will be ready by next fall...

    Pumpkin Launch

We had a blast chuckin' pumpkins! Our longest launch was 213 feet, and we ended up in 3rd place. We're already planning on building a bigger and better one for next year!

    Moab Wheeling 11/11/09 thru 11/14/09

Sounds like a pretty full schedule! We Be Jeepin' has runs scheduled for most weekends, but it is usually hard to get a group together during the week (stinkin' work gets in the way!) And on Saturday the 14th we will be providing the aid stations for the Ultimate XC ultra-marathon (uses...

Great report, Shane. We had a blast!

    Pritchett 10/11

Lifelong Jeeper, I didn't mean to imply that you shouldn't be on the trail, or that you shouldn't use your winch. We put the anchors there for a reason, and I would much rather see the anchors used rather than new bypasses being created or the trail being continually widened, etc. I think it...

    Pritchett 10/11

Thanks RockMonkey, your answer was right on. Nobody likes to see a trail go from a two-track to a 100 ft wide mess. On top of that, Pritchett Canyon id the boundary to the Behind-The-Rocks Wilderness Study Area (WSA). Anything to the left side of the trail is technically within the WSA, whicj...

    Anybody wheeling in January?

We schedule anywhere from a day to a month or more in advance. We occasionally do multi-day trips... but not in January ;)

Metal Masher has bypasses for Rock Chucker and Widowmaker. The rest of the trail is easier than either the Rim or Spike.

National Public Lands Day--Widowmaker approach repair

That bypass is illegal, and the BLM has asked us to close it.
