He got the 5.44. Figured the 10:1 would be way too low with the automatic.

    New Moab Samurai project

Progress has been slow as expected, and when we do get to work on it half the time I forget to take pics. Since the last update, we took the cage and tub off, and Jim painted the tub. We finally got the t-case, and I fab'd up a crossmember and got it mounted. The torque converter is installed...

Archived prichet canyon chewy hill roll

Thanks everyone for the comments on the fence at Chewy. I agree that the fence needs to be extended. Also, there are already two winch anchors. One is about halfway along the upper fence, and allows rigs to winch pretty much straight up the lower section. Then the top anchor can be used for the...

I guess that explains why we didn't have a monitor there for the EJS run on Thursday.

Archived prichet canyon chewy hill roll

Thank you for repairing the fence. MFFW has a trip / work day scheduled for Pritchett in a few weeks, so we will make permanent repairs then. A re-design may also be in order. I ran Pritchett again on Sunday (Apr 4) with a couple club members and some U4WDA folks. I was pleased that the trail...

    New Moab Samurai project

Right now everything is disassembled down to the frame so I can build the t-case cross member and clearance the floor. Hopefully we'll have the tub and cage back in in a few weeks, and I'll have some more pics then.

Archived What are trail conditions in moab right now?

I've been on both Metal Masher and Pritchett in the last couple of weeks. Widow Maker was still covered in snow, but it certainly has not got any smaller from last year. Pritchett was in very good condition except for some snow and mud. The small ledges at the very bottom of Rock Pile might be a...

    Moab March 21

Shouldn't be a super long day, but it will depend on how many we have and if we have any problems. I would guess we would be off the trail before 3:00.

    Moab March 21

Most of Cliffhanger is pretty straightforward, but there are a few obstacles that will really challenge a beginner, and I wouldn'd recommened doing it without at least one locker. Check with the rental company first, there are some trails they won't let people take the rentals on. I'm not sure...

    Moab March 21

There will probably be several EJS pre-runs that weekend. You are welcome to join We-Be-Jeepin on Cliffhanger on the 21st, meet at Slickrock Cinema at 9:00. Others will likely meet at City Market.

    Moab 4/16 - 4/19

I'm sure we will be running something that weekend. Next month's schedule should be up on the webejeepinmoab website in a week or so. Hope to see you then.

    Power steering overflow tank

I have hydro assist on my Samurai with a PSC pump and reservoir, and it would occasionally puke fluid out the reservoir. I ran a tube from the reservoir cap into the bottom of a plastic radiator overflow bottle, filled halfway with fluid, and it has worked great. The fluid does not get anywhere...

    New Moab Samurai project

So we have been making progress, but I've just been too lazy to post for awhile. The suspension is pretty much complete, as well as a few other things. Right now we are still waiting on the Atlas. We took the cage and tub back off a week or so ago, and Jim is working on some details, such as...

    Moab March 13th (Sat)

I'm sure there will be plenty of people out pre-running EJS trails on both the 20th and 21st. The Moab Half Marathon is on the 20th, and several people with We Be Jeepin will either be running in the race (Surgeryturtle for one) or working on rigs that day (me for one!). We should have a pretty...

    Moab March 13th (Sat)

Both Steelbender and Behind the Rocks are pretty much full day trails unless it is just a small group trying to make good time. I would expect to be back to town somewhere between 2:00 and 4:00.

    Moab March 13th (Sat)

    Chicken Corners

The trail will most likely be empty mid week in March. There could still be some snow and mud in places. The only cliff-edge spot that I can remember is right at the end of the trail, and that part is non-motorized. The trail is pretty much 2-wheel drive most of the way.
