"Rather than point fingers, let's work towards results"

MFFW will be doing some major repairs to the dugway leading up to Widow Maker on the Metal Masher trail for NPLD. If we can get enough volunteers, we will schedule multiple projects for the same day. Anyone that is in Moab then and would like to help can contact me through...

    Mashed Potato

The thanks on this one need to go to our club VP, Jim Molter (for those of you who have wheeled with us, Jim drives the "BAD-CAT" Samurai). Jim had been driving Mashed Potatoes for years, and when we found out it was designated single-track, he took it on himself to get it changed. Without Jim...

    Mashed Potato

The Pickle was never closed under the new RMP. Mashed Potatoes had been designated as motorized single track, but MFFW lobbied the BLM to re-designate it for all vehicles, and it was re-opened just a few weeks ago.

    Pritchett Canyon Update

Thanks, and you're welcome to come along anytime. We post our trail schedule on www.webejeepinmoab.com usually a few weeks in advance, and we always appreciate any extra help!

    Pritchett Canyon Update

Thanks, Melissa, for the great report! I'd also like to thank everyone that came along to help. We had a lot to do, but everyone pitched in and got 'er done! I do have one correction, though. The huge gas-powered rock drill was actually loaned to us by the BLM, and Grand Rental provided an...

    BBQ Thank You Thread

This probably sounds corny, but how about name tags for people with both their first name and RME user name? I for one don't know all that many RME'ers, and it would be great to be able to put a face with a name.

    Pritchett Canyon

This is a good observation, and one that has no easy answers. In the case of Pritchett, we try to block new and illegal bypasses as soon as we can, but we obviously can't be up there every day, and sometimes that is all it takes for a new bypass to become established. Thankfully, most people...

    Constrictor Sign down??

We've done quite a bit of buck and rail fencing around Moab. The cheapest way to do it that I have found is to buy some 4" to 5" logs at a saw mill (we got ours from Doug Jones Sawmill in Grand Junction.) I don't remember exactly what we paid for the logs, but it wasn't too bad. Buy a bunch of...

Meeting the audiance. General Land Use Chat

Kurt - I voted for all four options. In a way that is a cop-out, but I think that they are all equally important. I say that because different people will choose different ways to volunteer, but very few will actually do all of them. By offering all four options, we are assured of getting the...

    Air Shox and Body Roll

It sure looks and sounds like it was well thought out. In the pics, it looks like you might be able to move the lower rear shock mounts out a little bit, but I'm not sure if it would be enough to help much. Have you always had an issue with excessive body roll, or is this something new? If it's...

    Air Shox and Body Roll

I've built two Samurai buggys, one using Fox 2.0's and the other with S-A-W 2.0's. Neither one has sway bars, and they are both very stable. When I first did mine (with the Fox's), it unloaded quite badly my first trip on Moab Rim. When I checked the oil level, I found that each shock had less...

    Pritchett Canyon

Thank you C22 for the info. At this point, I guess it really doesn't matter who was first, it was still wrong. I have had several discussions this evening with U4WDA officials, and I believe we have a great opportunity to turn this whole mess into a win-win situation. A lot of it will depend...

    Pritchett Canyon

And by the way, maybe I'm totally blind, but I do not see the "tire tracks" and "scared rocks" that he claims to see in the photo. And no, I will not post the pic.

    Pritchett Canyon

This is not an apology or an admission. This is a denial, and I do not believe him any more than I believe Roger Clemens didn't use steroids. And even if he wasn't the first to use the bypass, he was absolutely one of the first. It was obvious that it was not an existing or legal route, and he...

    Pritchett Canyon

Sorry to stir the pot, but there is no way that that bypass was used before Walker did it. I was there the weekend before (March 28th). The bypass did not exist at that time. We have determined that the pictures were taken Sunday afternoon on April 5th. In the photos I saw, there is NO SIGN...

    Pritchett Canyon

I for one am thrilled to see that so many on this forum are dedicated to the land use ethics that are critical if trails like Pritchett are to remain open for our enjoyment. I also want to thank Melissa for being a great spokesperson for the sport, and for Moab Friends-For-Wheelin'. A...
