My son's Comanche 4.0 is getting tired after 230 K plus miles. He would like to put in a stroker kit while he is at it. Does anyone know of a good machine shop that has experience with Jeep I6 stroker builds ? I have several 4.0 cores that we can use do the build without taking his jeep off the...
Yes I have a 4.0/aw4/d300 in my scrambler and it works great. There are times when I would like the v8 power but for most of what we do the 4.0 works very well and I get 21 MPG with it. I am always the last one to run low on gas on our trips. You can use the same motor mounts as your current six...
You have all of the right parts of the name. Its the Tantalus Flats road just before it drops into Tantalus Creek. This road connects into the South Draw 4X4 road which goes into Capital Reef and connects to the scenic drive road. Very scenic ride that isn't super difficult unless it is wet. Its...
Looks like you had fun ! I enjoy pulling the big macs up too and have fished the same area when we were up last time. We usually get the burbots in the winter up there but I need to figure out how to get them when the water is softer. I also got lucky on the pheasant hunt opener. The dog and I...
I have lots of possibilities that would be nearly impossible but we'll try this one. PolarXJ has to wait till others can't figure it out since he is in the picture and knows where this is. One hint this is not in Moab but is in Southern Utah.
My guess is that guys who are building mud trucks or desert racers want the strength of a 205 and don't need the really low range. They also don't want to spend as much as the Atlas/Stak option requires. Having cheaper factory spares is also a plus.
I didn't find one in the basement so I would have to take one off of the ones in the garage. One is from a 92 XJ and I would need to uncover it to see if it has the threaded fill cap.
I have some on a couple of 4.0 cores in the garage and possibly one in the basement that isn't attached to an engine. I know I have the internal guts of a 4.0 down there.
I have a TH400 / NP205 combo out of an 86 K30 Chevy (round pattern) that I have been hanging on to for spare parts if my 85 K30 ever had issues. I have been considering moving some of this out to free up space in my garage. I went on Pirate to see what these things go for and it was quite a bit...
Will do. I can also post the other commando parts I won't be using like the steering column, shaft and gearbox, instrument cluster, dana 20, th400 and possibly the hardtop.
