Oops do I need to pull the oil pump ?

I wish I had one of those fancy cameras the doctors use to look inside. I don't know if it had the plastic or a metal clip. Maybe I can run a magnet in through the drain hole and see what I pick up.

Oops do I need to pull the oil pump ?

I think I'll pull the distributor back out and see if I can see anything, if not I'll pull the pan. Didn't need more work but the motor is too nice to risk it.

Oops do I need to pull the oil pump ?

I was trying to drop the distributor into the GM 350 crate motor in my commando after installing the TBI manifold. When I pulled it out once the intermediate shaft that goes from the distributor gear to the oil pump came out with the distributor. If I remember correctly there is a plastic...

    TBI manifold questions

Well I finally got all the grinding done so its ready to install. I think I found the answer to the gasket question. It turns out that the factory TBI manifold has water ports at the rear so that they can warm up the manifold better to keep the throttle body from icing up. They also have the...

On our map its called Rocky Pass which is a few miles north east of Immigrant pass. The BLM description of Devils Play Ground matches the same spot. We came on to the area from the north when we explored the Sawtooth , Grouse Creek and Pilot Mountains. Its a fun area to hike around in. Your up...

    TBI manifold questions

I am in the process of swapping the 4 barrel carb manifold on the 350 in the commando project to the TBI manifold. I noticed that the new manifold has different water ports than the old manifold. The rear water ports actually go through the manifold where the old manifold doesn't. The TBI intake...

    blown yj dana 35

Yeah he is a regular out there. We will have to see how it holds up, he hits his rear driveline on ledges once in a while due to his longer wheelbase and wants to try and fix it. Plus with his 9 inches of lift he could use a better driveline angle.

It was there, now its in my garage. Its a high pinion 44 with moser axles and a detroit locker. My son picked it up and is planning on sticking it in his comanche.

    XJ pilot bearing

Ilean on the site has a lathe and might be willing. If you still have the smaller bearing that fit in the 95 pocket it would be a good idea to measure it to verify the 1" pocket diameter before having the machining done.

    XJ pilot bearing

I did some web searching and found that the 88.5-91 AX15 tranny has a smaller end on the input shaft that goes into the pilot bearing than the 92-04 AX15s do. The bearing that went over the tranny but had too much slop in the crank needs a bushing along with the bearing. From what I read the...
