I've found that a little anti-seize or grease on the flaring die and tube make my flares come out a lot nicer. Especially on big stuff like power steering and fuel lines.

Nice work on the cherokee. Definitely one of my favorite builds.

I ran across RockMonkey on NAXJA...
I joined this site just to read this build thread.

Mr. RockMonkey,
My XJ shipped out last night, let me know when you're finished duplicating the build on my rig and I will send a case of your favorite beverage as full payment :).

Sounds like a plan. I drink pure platinum. You'll have to have it bottled for you. ;)

Glad you're enjoying the build and welcome to RME.

a little bit overkill for taking the kids to soccer practice and getting groceries... don't you think?

for sure my favorite xj build ever and i am an xj lover (unfortunately)

Yeah, it's overkill for groceries, but have you seen the mall parking lot?

Thanks. :)

I've been waiting to see what you are going to do with the exhaust... do you have a plan for that yet? Or will factory exhaust fit with the suspension setup you're running? Very cool build, Love the XJ's!

Yeah, I've been waiting to see that too. :ugh:

There's no way the factory exhaust is going to fit, especially around the link bars in the back. I would like to squeeze a small cat beside the transfer case to make it legal. Then I was thinking I might be able to fit the smallest Aero Turbine muffler in the driveshaft tunnel above the rear driveshaft. I won't know until I get a drive shaft built for it. It's going to be tight, and I might just end up dropping it off at a good exahust shop. That's what I did with my buggy, and it sure was easy...

Right on man. I've been wanting to wander over and check this thing out when I'm at my parents. They live a couple doors down on the corner. Anyway, bad ass Cherokee!

Oh, that's your XJ that's parked over at Bill's occasionally! My boy and I have wandered down to check it out while you've been there. :D Come on over next time. We're usually outside when the weather's nice anyway.

Yes sir, that'd be mine. Its just your average sh** box XJ with a tooth pick for a front axle and 35's to help the situation. :D I'll take you up on that, i'd love to check your Cherokee out. Now... on to the build and more updates.......
