If you can get the case, pick up the rear driveline as well. You'll need it due to the flanged output on the case.

    Toyota IFS steering box

It's really not that hard. The two lower mounting holes go through the frame, which requires welding in sleeves. The upper needs brackets and a sleeve welded to the frame. The IFS pitman will need to be modified to fit a rod end, but several options are available. Above all, move it forward...

Best DD and Occasional tow rig???

All I drive is Dodges and Fords, but I'm still a bow-tie guy at heart. For towing, nothing will beat the Cummins. But, as a commuter, they leave a lot to be desired. If you're looking at gassers, ignore the "Hemi-hype". A 350 is still a 350. GM has a good tuggin gasser, but the mileage sucks...

    Ugly Tech headscratcher...

I'm just guessing here, but mid 80's HEI GM mag pick-up's act this way. "If" that's what you have, swap out the pick up and rotor. They're dirt cheap, it's it's probablt due anyway.

    Oil pressure...

ok, dumb guestion here but...... What weight oil are you guy's running? As an engine wears, it's going to lose oil pressure due to increased bearing clearances, and oil pump gear wear. I'm guessing you're all running the "new engine" recomendation of 10-30? Time to go thicker when you get to...
