    Towing with 6 cyl GC

Let me clarify- I am sharing the experience, not selling Jeeps....let the reader make of it what they will. And I hardly think saying you can top Parley's at 45 is a ringing endorsment! Nor am I saying the CG is a great choice for towing (look at my own posts looking at larger rigs for that...

    Looking for a CLUB!

I will second this suggestion and agree with Kurt- doesn't hurt to link up with a few groups!

    Towing with 6 cyl GC

That scares me. I don't care what you are using to tow or how stable it may feel, speed in a storm is never wise. That is far more likely to result in a crash than anything! One other big factor with any rig of course is proper set up. If the trailer is not riding flat or has too much...

    Towing with 6 cyl GC

Not always true. With the factory tow package it is 5,000. One mistake some people make is assuming "tow package" is a hitch- see that advertised alot. But the factory tow with the GC has different gears and other changes.

    Towing with 6 cyl GC

I mentioned awhile back that my Dad tows his boat with his 6 cyl Grand Cherokee. I had never ridden with him doing so until heading to Flaming Gorge this past weekend for the deer hunt. Here is the deal for those thinking of towing with there 6 cyl Jeeps... The boat is a 22' Hydroswift...

    Best full-size trail rig?

Sounds like a fun rig you are putting together. Post some picks as it comes along and if I can find one, I'll come your way for advice!

    Best full-size trail rig?

Good to know. It would be fun to pick up the 87 Wagoneer posted then build it up. The tough part will be convincing my wife. But alas, we can dream can't we?

    Best full-size trail rig?

Agree. It is alwyas fun to do something capble but less common. I was surprised to see the one listed in the RME classifieds to say 44 front, 20 rear. Would take more work. I think the final decesion point when I am ready to buy will come down to the best deal I can find. Doesn't seem...

    Best full-size trail rig?

Sounds like all comes down to brand preferance and price between Blazer/Bronco/RamCharger (and I can't say I have a real strong preference for any. Never owned a Ford, have had several newer Dodges and the last Chevy was a '48 pick-up). Seems like any of those can run 35" with a only 4" lift...

    Best full-size trail rig?

Not looking for a daily driver. The long term idea is replace the mini-van with a Suburban for family trips, horse hauling etc (thus the other big rig thread I started a month or two back). Currently my DD and off-road is 03 Montero Sport. Once I have a good trail rig, then the Monty Sport...

    Best full-size trail rig?

I sat here thinking about what I want in a trail rig (Should have been working so I could afford ot buy one but that another issue.). I realized that since it will also be used for hunting and my deer hunting also involves boating, I need ot be able to tow with the trail rig. So, that pushes...

    Snakes 10/2

My earlier point is not that clubs are not a good idea or have not accomplished a lot of good. Sorry if it came out wrong. My point is that many, if not most, of the people causing the damage are not members. Thus newsletters etc are not going to reach those people. Thus the importance...

    legal tires

I might be giving more advice than you want, but legal and safe on tires is not the same. I feel that long before tread is low enough to fail inspection it is too low for safe travel on wet or snowy roads.

    Snakes 10/2

From reading this thread I see a trend that goes something like this: Everyone agrees going off the trail is bad (duh) Everyone agrees that what has been done so far has helped but not stopped the problem (obvious or the thread would't have stopped at the pics). Several are still mad at...

    Snakes 10/2

Well Said V-Dawg! Issues that need to be remembered are that magazine articles and web sites are useless once someone is on a trail. Even if you have read the article or seen a map before leaving I doubt that will clear all confusion on the ground. (Don't take that to mean those resources...
