    Camping at BFE?

As far as I know, Jeremy allows camping in the BFE lot. There is also free BLM camping right across the highway from the road that leads to BFE (the road that leads to Behind the Rocks). Are you coming in tonight? If you are, be aware that the U4WDA Winter Convention is holding its event at...

    Rim question

I agree vehicle weight and tire type have a lot to do with it. I have been running 15x10 rims on my samurai for 15 years. The rig has always been somewhat heavier than stock (D44's, etc), but it is still relatively light. Started with 33's, then ran 35's for 5-6 years, now I'm on 37's. Always...

New RR4W Moab trail ratings for EJS

One thing you have to remember, is that the old rating system was for EJS trails only. Pritchett is the the hardest trails used for official runs, hence the 5 rating. The proposed new rating system leaves room at the top for more difficult trails.

    EJS Dumpster fundraiser!

If we can't get recycling bins, I suppose we could just use some large trash bags and sort the stuff ourselves. Let me know know I can help. Jeff

    U4WDA Winter Convention

I'm glad to hear there's not a lot of snow up there. I went out to BFE on Saturday. All of the south-facing slopes were clear, and there was about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of snow covering the parking area. Helldorado was covered, as well as about half the "comp" area. If the weather warms up a bit...

    EJS Dumpster fundraiser!

Greg, any thought of sorting cans and bottles for recycling? If we could, I think that would be a huge PR boost (as well as being good for the environment!). There is a non-profit group here in Moab that has tried to set up recycling efforts during EJS for the last few years (with varying levels...

EJS Potato Salad hill cleanup schedule

I am leading / gunning trails on the 2nd and 3rd. But you can count on me helping out on Sunday the 8th, as well as 1 or 2 other days. I'll also get some other club members to help, but we won't have a schedule untill after our meeting next week.

    U4WDA Winter Convention

We just made a deal with Marianne's Bakery here in Moab. They are going to be selling hot coffee, cocoa, donuts, muffins, cookies, etc. at the meeting place before our departure. They have the best home-made pastry in town!

    U4WDA Winter Convention

Right now, I have a couple inches of snow in my yard. I live at the south end of Spanish Valley, about half way between Moab and BFE. Looks like we are going to get some more on Friday.

    samurai power steering

I used the Sidekick setup on mine for years. Worked okay with 35's, as long as the ARB was not engaged. With the front diff locked, no way could I turn on slickrock. My wife's sammy had the celica box and pump, and in my opinion was not as good as the sidekick stuff. I'm now using an FJ-60 box...

    Interesting idea for EJS 2007

Get ahold of Greenjeep (he's on this board, but I don't think his computer is working right now) or Ber Knight (he's in the phone book). Either one can tell you how to donate to the Mud Fund. By the way notajeep, we need to run a trail together sometime! I hope we can meet each other during...

    Interesting idea for EJS 2007

As for charging a "toll" for all jeepers who come to Moab during EJS, it's a nice thought (I'd pay my 10 bucks if I new it was going to help save our trails), but I doubt it could legally be done, much less enforced. What would you do, set up road blocks and charge a fee to anyone passing...
